The role

Auto & General (A&G), located in Australia, has multiple leadership opportunities in our personal lines pricing team. We are looking for high-performing pricing actuaries and managers keen to relocate to sunny Brisbane.

As a technical leader, you'll play a pivotal role in conducting actuarial rate reviews, managing pricing changes, and ensuring the integrity of our pricing structures. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid grasp of statistical modelling techniques. 

Accountabilities

Lead end-to-end rate review processes, including data analysis, modelling, implementation, and monitoring. Continuously improve the accuracy of our pricing by identifying and evaluating alternative data sources and modern statistical approaches. Contribute to the development of new pricing strategies and structures. Mitigate operational risks through effective governance and controls, including bolstering our end-to-end testing regime for price changes. Prepare and present complex technical and strategy papers for discussion. Manage and/or mentor junior pricing staff to build technical capability.  

What experience you’ll bring

Minimum 5 years of experience in the general insurance industry, preferably technical pricing. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Proficiency in statistical modelling techniques and software (e.g., EMBLEM, Radar, Python, SQL). Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial studies, or related field (Actuarial qualifications preferred).

Location – Toowong, Brisbane

Our head office is located in Brisbane, the capital of the sunshine state, Queensland.
